1. General provisions
1.1.These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) set out the rules for using the psy.one website and its subdomains (the “Site”): the PSY.one expert journal about psychology, the professional community of specialists and the consultation booking service.
1.2.The Site is operated by Natalia Aleksandrovna Motorina, individual entrepreneur (the “Administration”).
1.3.The journal can be read without registering; visitors who do so comply with sections 5 and 7 of these Terms. By registering on the Site, a user accepts these Terms in full.
1.4.Booking of and payment for consultations are governed by the Consultation Terms (public offer) (psy.one/offer), the processing of personal data by the Privacy Policy (psy.one/privacy), and conduct in the community by the Community Guidelines (psy.one/community/rules). These documents apply together with the Terms.
1.5.The current version of the Terms is published at psy.one/terms; the date of the version is shown at the top of the page.
2. Definitions
2.1.Visitor means any person who opens the Site.
2.2.User means a person over 18 who is registered on the Site. All users register as readers.
2.3.Specialist means a user whose qualifications (education, practice, supervision) have been verified on the basis of an author application. A specialist can write articles and review colleagues’ articles.
2.4.Expert means a specialist who has been granted expert status by the editor-in-chief for their contribution to the journal and the community. Consultations through the Site are offered only by experts for whom the Administration has enabled booking.
2.5.Editors means the editor-in-chief and the staff who prepare, check and publish the journal’s material.
2.6.Materials means articles, illustrations, photographs, reviews, texts and the design of the Site.
2.7.User content means what users place on the Site themselves: comments, a name or pseudonym, photos, profile information, and specialists’ articles and reviews.
3. Registration and account
3.1.Anyone who is 18 or over may register. When registering, the user gives their name and email address, confirms their age and separately consents to the processing of personal data.
3.2.Sign-in is via a one-time link sent by email, or with Yandex ID or VK ID; there are no passwords on the Site. Users are responsible for access to their email and must not pass sign-in links to other people.
3.3.One person — one account. Impersonating another person is prohibited.
3.4.Users can delete their account at any time in the personal account settings. When deleting it, they choose whether to keep their comments without a name or delete them. Published articles and reviews remain in the journal under the author’s name (section 6).
3.5.The editor-in-chief and administrators cannot delete their account until they have handed their role over to another person.
4. Specialists
4.1.To become a specialist, a user fills in an author application: education, experience, areas of work and, where possible, documents. The information in the application must be accurate; documents are checked only by the administrator and the editor-in-chief.
4.2.Changes to a specialist’s public profile — education, positioning, length of practice, approach, areas of work, work experience and “About me” — are published after review.
4.3.A specialist’s photo and profile may be published only with their separate consent to the dissemination of personal data (psy.one/consent/public).
4.4.An expert who offers consultations must be registered as self-employed or as an individual entrepreneur. The terms of working with the Administration as agent are set by an agency agreement. The price of a consultation on the Site may not exceed the Expert’s lowest price for the same consultation on other public platforms, including aggregators (clause 7.3 of the Community Guidelines).
5. Rules of conduct
5.1.The following is prohibited on the Site:
- insulting, humiliating or harassing people, or inciting violence and discrimination;
- posting health information, addresses, phone numbers or other personal data — your own or anyone else’s;
- diagnosing other users or giving advice that could cause harm: to refuse treatment, or to start or stop taking medication;
- describing methods of self-harm and suicide;
- posting advertising, links to your own paid services or contact details for consultations outside the Site;
- posting other people’s texts under your own name, or material that infringes other people’s rights;
- posting information prohibited by the legislation of the Russian Federation;
- attempting to disrupt the Site, gain access to other people’s accounts or private data, or mass-collect data from the Site by automated means.
5.2.The detailed rules and ethical standards of the community are set out in the Community Guidelines (psy.one/community/rules).
5.3.Comments from new users are published after a moderator has checked them. Any user can report a comment; the moderator decides whether to hide it or leave it.
5.4.If the rules are broken, the Administration first sends the user a warning by email stating the violation. If the violation is repeated, the account is blocked. Violations that may be contrary to the legislation of the Russian Federation may be referred to the competent authorities.
5.5.The Administration may, without warning, hide material that breaks the law or infringes the rights of third parties, and may withdraw specialist or expert status in the manner described in the Community Guidelines.
6. Articles, reviews and rights to them
6.1.The journal’s articles are written by specialists. Before publication, an article is reviewed by practising specialists from the community and checked by the editors. By submitting an article for review, the author confirms that they wrote the text, that it contains no plagiarism, and that all sources and quotations are cited.
6.2.The exclusive right to an article remains with the author. By submitting an article to the journal, the author grants the Administration, free of charge, a simple (non-exclusive) licence for the entire term of the exclusive right, worldwide, covering the following uses:
- publication on the Site, in the newsletter and on PSY.one’s social media accounts;
- editing, the headline, the lead and the choice of illustrations — with the final version agreed with the author;
- keeping the article in the journal’s archive and displaying it after the author’s account has been deleted.
6.3.The author may publish their article in other publications, stating that it first appeared in PSY.one.
6.4.Specialists’ reviews of articles are used on the same terms; the reviewer’s name is shown under the article.
6.5.Articles from the archive of the previous version of the Site are published marked “Archive” under the name of the author given in the original. The author may contact the editors to link the article to their account, change the byline or have the article removed.
6.6.By posting a comment, a user allows it to be shown on the Site until it is deleted by the user or by a moderator.
7. Use of the Site’s materials
7.1.The Site’s materials are protected by copyright. The rights to articles belong to their authors; the rights to the design, logo, illustrations and software of the Site belong to the Administration or to persons who have granted it a licence.
7.2.Materials may be read, saved for personal use and quoted to the extent justified by the purpose of the quotation, with the author named and an active link to the page of the material (Article 1274 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation).
7.3.Republishing materials in full, adapting them or using them commercially is permitted only with the written permission of the Administration and the author. Requests should be sent to psy@psy.one.
7.4.Some illustrations were created with the help of AI; such illustrations are labelled.
8. Articles do not replace help from a specialist
8.1.The journal’s materials are for information only and do not constitute medical care, a diagnosis or an individual recommendation. To deal with your situation, please see a specialist.
8.2.If you are feeling very bad and have thoughts of harming yourself, call 112 or the helpline of the Emergency Psychological Assistance Centre of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations: +7 495 989-50-50. Outside Russia, call your local emergency number or find a helpline at https://findahelpline.com.
9. Liability and operation of the Site
9.1.The Administration strives to keep the Site running without interruption but may temporarily restrict access for updates and maintenance.
9.2.The Administration is responsible for the Site and its materials in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation. Responsibility for user content lies with the user who posted it.
9.3.The Site may contain links to other websites. The Administration is not responsible for their content or operation.
10. Changes to the Terms
10.1.The Administration may amend these Terms. A new version takes effect when it is published on the Site, unless it states otherwise.
10.2.Registered users are notified by email of significant changes. If a user does not agree with the new version, they may delete their account.
11. Disputes
11.1.Questions and claims should be sent to psy@psy.one. The Administration replies within 10 working days.
